Gettin' the garage back
Nov. 16th, 2003 07:43 pmSorry about the grump-bleah post this morning. I'm still fighting the remnants of this cold and was puttering about angstily.
To combat this, I aimed myself at the garage and started digging through it. When
revar woke up and saw this, Revs dived right in to help. By the time darkness fell we'd filled the truck with a full load for the dump tomorrow. About 75% of the floorspace that I need to recover has been exposed to daylight and swept clean. The last quarter is still covered in primarily Burning Man and Roomie/Ex-Roomie detrius. The one who is still here (
chipotle) has been tasked with proper boxing and stacking of his stuff into the spare room. Later this week I'll make contact with the one who left (
octantis) to see about what he still wants to save and if there's any timeline for removing the stuff. The burning-man stuff is being put up still tonight and will continue to be sorted through for most of the week.
Next weekend I'm on duty so I can't have a planned trip or anything similarly fun. Instead the plan will be to clean the last of the last and get the garage back to the wonderful state it was in last year. After that? Tackling the redwood shelves and finally sorting/posting all the Ex-Tech to giveaway as I promised last week. With luck by the time my father gets here for Thanksgiving I'll have a respectable house and a good bike-workshop again. It's far easier to go riding together when one can get to both bikes easily. :)
And now back out to the garage to keep sorting. There's a guilty pleasure to sorting burning-man gear. The playa-dust is wonderfully nostalgic-smelling, even if it does rough up the hands a bit.
