Time for a little insanity

Work is FUBAR. We lost power in the middle of a t1 swapover. All is bad. Can't do anything until the power comes back up, so I'm home again. The ETA is "unknown", as currently 10-20K people in the bay have no power. Wheee!

I have an hour of daylight left. Time to test the waterproofness of the riding suit, before I get caught in a downpour on the way to Death Valley Days or something. I'd rather get used to it under more local circumstances.

Back from the rain-ride

The Bates suit has failed the rain test. It took only about 15 minutes before my arms and legs (from the knees down) were soaked through. The boots and gloves did okay, and the chest was fine due to the windscreen. The rest? Dripping. In order for me to survive a 10 hour ride to Death Valley in the rain (should such happen), I must find some form of outer sealing layer. The research will begin immediately.
