Nice t'know
Jan. 16th, 2003 04:10 pmSo here I am, sitting in a meeting, with my laptop on wireless connection. After one bossman challenges another about the worth of their people, we spend about 45 minutes doing a full cost analysis of how much money we make from specific parts of customer contracts. Challenging each other, they get down to brass tacks: which employees are directly resrponsible for which parts and just exactly how much all the costs are... figuring out a real profit-per-employee that simply wouldn't exist were those employees not individually there. Things were pretty even-stevens until my boss got down to me, with his usual snerk about not believing I'm doing enough.
It turns out that I'm responsible $380,000/yr of pure profit thanks to what I do for my company; the highest of the lot.
I told them all "You're welcome." and walked out of the meeting. The grin on the head honcho's face was priceless. :)
