Good impromptu workout today, both physically and mentally: the new racks finally shipped in and I'm building out my new server room. It's harder work than it looks to assemble, floor-bolt and ladder-secure the dern things -- and that's not including moving the 250lb UPS stacks into the bottom of each one. I do love the challenge of building out new infrastructure, though. This is going to be a pretty sweet 'show' server room when it's done. It'd better be! There's this huge display window on one side of it facing the customer lobby. Walk in to my office and you'll get greeted by a really cool receptionist (Erin rocks! Best receptionist I've ever worked with), nice seating with pretty plants, and a direct view of the server room and the towers of blinkenlaut within. Add in the 45" plasma panel showing a live view of the GPS constellation and the 12-entry world clock running along the top like a stock exchange ticker and the effect is pretty swank.

Quick recap: Rally in the Sierras
Jul. 31st, 2003 07:00 pmI didn't take too many pictures this weekend. Of the ones that I did, they weren't that spectacular. My heart wasn't into the whole camera-thing; I was too busy riding. This has been a trend lately that I hope doesn't last. The spark to take proper pictures again will show up soon enough.
( Only a handful of pics below, but cut-tagged anyways just in case. )
