Now this will be a fun little ride...
Jun. 19th, 2008 03:08 pmA few locals want to go for a little motorcycle jaunt over the hills here in the south bay area. It's a ride I've done a few times before, though admittedly the last time around was at least two years ago (or more). It's a laid back affair, most likely starting at 11A on Saturday morning. The current plan is to meet up at my house by 10:45.

Pay no attention to the dots and markers. My 'draw a quick Googlemap route' fu is weak. Just the line is important, for the actual route.
It's a 120+ mile loop, going from the Alum Rock neighborhood up and over Mount Hamilton. From there you go down the backside of the hill to Junction, then up Mines road to Livermore for dinner. If folks are tired the way back can be easily slabbed down the 680, or if more riding is desired there's a beautiful turn-off that follows the Calaveras reservoir until you're right back where you started in Alum Rock again.
Due to the twistytwisty nature of the area and the many pretty photo-op stops, it's one of those 'maybe back by sundown' affairs once you include dinner in Livermore.
Any other locals up for joining?
