Amidst all the noise and bluster about 9/11, I have only one thing to relate:

There are some people I work with who were actually upset that nothing happened this morning. They expected something bad so eagerly that they were disappointed when they didn't wake up to news of a plane flying into another building. I personally know what it's like to crave change, even if painful, but this... eesh. It really makes me lose a bit of faith in humanity.

It's kinda like how folks felt after Y2K I think. We were told for so long that all sorts of bad things were going to happen, it was kind of exciting to think about, even if you didn't really want anything bad to happen to anything or anybody.

And new years this year, and fouth of July, and every other time security is built up and terror warnings are given out. We are constantly being reminded that "Something Bad" could happen again. I think that folks just want it to happen and get it over with, instead of wondering when the next bad thing is going to show up.

Well, that's dementedly sick. I could understand feeling releaved that nothing had happened but feeling let down by it? Naw...That's just not right, IMHO.

Personally, with the amount of alerts, media coverage and scary stories going around, I think people honestly were expecting something. They are being trained to... :(

{sarcasm}Watch the little tv screen! Good mundane.
Get excited! There ya go!{/sarcasm}

I'm actually surprised that nothing major happened. There was a relatively easy way to meet or even top last year's event that wasn't mentioned at all in the media, and so presumably would be easier to implement while everyone was worried about planes.

The fact that AQ _didn't_ do it either means they didn't think of it, or they're more badly hurt than they're letting on, or it's harder than _I_ think.
