Photos, photos, aiiiugh more photos!
Feb. 10th, 2003 11:05 amI'm about halfway through now. It's more work than I thought it would be. The worst part is memory pollution. After about 15 high-rez pics go through The Process(tm) the poor machine I'm working on feels like it's wading through molasses. Whatever Photoshop Elements is doing with memory is unkind and it's not being good about cleaning up after itself. Having to reboot every dozen-or-so pics gets real annoying, so I keep putitng it back down. Next thing I know, another weekend is over.
I'm not going to post them until all the pics are together in one big batch... because the moment I post them the Email Flood starts. Folks ask for prints (which I'm not doing this year), CDRoms, send in name-corrections, or just plain comment at great detail about everything. I don't want to have more pics to go through yet before I start dealing with that. I also need to sit down with Whitefire and/or other FC media folk and see if they have a hosting site for the pictures, as I'm slightly afraid of what posting these is going to do to my bandwidth this year. I'm looking into temporary co-hosting possibilities.
I showed about half the pics to some visiting friends (incluing
yoru,
kattything and
tsuminaki [if I got that last name right]). I'm glad to say that the bulk of the pictures came out just fine... only a much smaller subset were of the "I wish I'd re-shot that" category.
