For the welders on my list
Jun. 18th, 2008 02:37 pmBuying that Dynasty200 TIG unit was a bit premature, I think. It was very fun to learn on. It's also an incredibly cool tool in general. Even so, the fact remains that less than one out of every 15 times I've pulled out the welder, it's been the TIG. Most everything we do in our metalshop is faster and easier with MIG instead.
Just like the photo-strobes, the TIG welder is a rather hefty asset to just leave sitting unloved on a shelf. I'm going to sell it off and get a basic aluminum spoolgun for the MIG instead. The money left over will go towards a new tablesaw for the shop and other more-commonly-used tools.
If you're interested in buying it, here's the Craigslist for-sale posting. I'd let it go even a little more cheaply than that to a friend.
