It's not sunny; it's not rainy. It's not cold; it's not terribly warm either. As always it's not so much about spring as it is about the so-called 'winter' vaguely becoming summer at some point. At least I don't think there's a spring as compared to the rather taDAAAH! types that happen in the midwest once the snows are finally gone. At least the air's clear and the hills are green this time of year. The rest of the year they're brown.

The only reason I knew daylight savings happened was because those nifty analog radio-set clocks I have in the house started whizzing at high speed to jump from 2A to 3A while we were all up talking, post-movie. (We saw the Vin Diesel m4d b34td0wnz flick "a man apart". Good action cheese.) While I bemoan the hour of sleep lost I'm far more greatful for the extra hour of evening daylight. It means more riding time and more photo time. My favorite time of the year is when it's after 8pm and still nice and bright out. We've got a ways before getting there but it'll happen soon enough.

Stage 2 of (unknown) is in progress on funding the photography hobby at the downsizing of the others. I've put my IS binocs up on eBay to see if there are any bites. I'll miss them, sure... but I didn't get enough use out of them to justify the expense vs. the other hobbies. Maybe when I'm all rich-and-famous in the future (insert smirk here) I'll buy the 18x50's to replace them. After this sale more will go up on the auction block, such as the rear electrostat speakers, the RC cars and some leftover tech gear I have. What fundage comes in pays off the 10D and then goes towards getting some higher end glass, such as a 14mm prime, a 65mm macro, and maybe one fast/sharp mainstay like a 28-70L-IS.

Now that [livejournal.com profile] octantis is moving on at the end of the month, I'm putting together house plans to get this place back to a condition I'm more comfortable with. [livejournal.com profile] chipotle will be moving from his room into the room Octantis leaves empty, because it's carpeted and bigger. All of Chipotle's stuff that's currently wedging the garage full will go into the now-empty small room. This will allow me to return the garage to the amazingly more useful state that it was in way back on July 1st of last year (thank you, LJ, for preserving this!). I can't tell you how much I'm looking forwards to having my garage back. Bliss. The next stage will be to dispose of all the clutter littering the redwood shelves in the den and filling them with actual books and comics... freeing up yet a little more garage space and a good chunk of [livejournal.com profile] revar's room in the process. From there we do our usual spring cleaning and de-clutterize the place, a task we've become rather good at each year.

We're all getting into the habit of never leaving dishes anywhere but in the dishwasher and putting away everything when done with it in the kitchen. Between that, this upcoming house re-org and the now-functioning maid service, we should finally have a house that's clean each night when getting home from work. A house that we won't be embarrased to let surprise visitors into. A house that won't look like a Fandom Bachelor Special, heavy on the clutter. Here's to hoping we can pull it off.
