Official Tron Legacy footage released...

Dude. Just... dude. I've been waiting for this movie for far too many decades.

Hmm, I dunno. It didn't seem all that Tron-y, just from the lightcycle chase sequence. I was waiting for some 90-degree angle trapping. :)

Computers these days are exponentially more capable than computers were back when the original Tron was released. It stands to reason that the same progression happened in the Tron universe, which lead to the world inside the computers becoming more complex, shinier, and capable of processing things like smooth curves.

Makes sense, right?

Looking, I have to wonder if they re-imagined out all the things that made Tron the film that we loved - the Moebius designed sets, the humanity in the programs... the feel of it.

This isn't actually new footage shot for the movie. This is the tech demo that was filmed a few years ago to demonstrate the techniques they wanted to use, and as an internal pitch for putting the movie into production.

It looks a lot like the footage that was flying around from last year, but it looks like they've added some more things.

This -is- the footage from last years ComicCon. (sans the TR2N logo at the end) But until now, the only copy available was a very low resolution, tilted, cam'd version from an atendee's cell phone.

This is the official release of that footage... in HD too! :)

Good gosh. this should be interesting! TRON is one of my favourite SciFi movies ever. They stayed looks wise true to the original in this one yet a new fresh twist. I like!
