I'm always like this before heading out to have fun. Someday I'll enter into a trip or vacation with a calm, no-frills good night's sleep the evening before. Someday. :)
For now... I've got the bike mostly prepped. The mechanical work is done. Gadgets are configured and loaded aboard. Clothes are set aside, travel essentials bagged. Whaat's not done? Well, I still have to find the left hand tank pannier bag. I can do without it, but it'd be nice to have along. Also, sometime prior to 10:30am, the UPS guy should be bringing a T-plate for the tail of the bike so I can properly mount the Helen 2-wheels bags containing my camping gear. This will make riding much more stable. It only takes 15 minutes to install. I just hope it shows up.
The last thing to do is get the camera ready. I need to pad it up and mount it in the tankbag right so it'll survive the offroad parts of the trip. It lived through Death Valley; it should do fine for this.
Sometime around noon tomorrow I'll be gone, headed up into the Sierras to a campground in Hope Valley. Waiting for me there will be about 70 or so other Adventure riders. It's to be a weekend of campouts, cookouts, backroads riding and tall tales around campfires. Dusty is coming along with me, though he's arriving a day later due to work. More updates and pics once I'm back!
