Well, no... not really. I'm home. A baker's dozen thoughts about B'man 2003:

1. I have silver reflective fingernail polish on. Every time I look at my hands I'm reminded of [livejournal.com profile] peganthyrus. Neat. I wonder how long this lasts or how one is supposed to take it off.
2. The best hot cocoa in the world is served up by kind strangers that give you a couch and a blanket when you cannot walk anymore.
3. The past 7 times it has been about the Place or the Stuff. This was the first year it was about the People. I prefer this year's ways.
4. Watching others' reactions when walking the pattern is educational. Assisting them through to their goal is satisfying.
5. Folks close to the burn were lucky. The shockwave from the fuel-air explosions didn't touch down until they were >150meters out. Instead of 10,000 people flat on their backs from being pressure-slapped we simply had all the structures at the Espenlade sway in unison.
6. I was given Strength when I needed it the most, in the form of a viking rune hand-painted upon a river pebble.
7. Fuzzy Tube Dresses are best when worn over the head like a Seussian-bred ski-mask and go especially well with reflective gold capes.
8. Every time the fires twirled, I thought of [livejournal.com profile] kattything. I got many pics for her.
9. Taking a full day to Not Work, Not Travel and Just Prepare rocks. Technically I should take two.
10. The Element is an amazing playa-car. It handles the dust without worry and I slept almost better than I do at home.
11. At this point I'm sure I could pull off White Boy Dreads rather well. Playamud + half-undone braids gives me this clue.
(11a. The more important realization is that I probably shouldn't.)
12. Being scribbled upon is pure joy. At least I'm a decently sized canvas.
13. Yes, I think I'll go back. I've got a better handle on the ground rules this time. More on that later.

The first shower after getting home is always bliss. Now I get to pass out and sleep in through a long lazy Monday. Pictures and posts should come in through the week. To Noressa, Learnteach, Brenda and all the others who were out there and I didn't get to meet up with: I humbly offer my handful-of-friends-amongst-30,000-humanoids apologies. I need to practice my bloodhound skills more.

Sounds absolultely wonderful, from this end.

I still have to remember to read and live things like this through people like you. If I went I'd be unbearably miserable.

But to read it through your eyes, it sounds heavenly!

Nail polish remover and cotton balls take it off, or you can pick and chip it off over time like I do. :D

Saw your space, but not you...

If you want to keep the polish on for a while, alternatively, you can put a protective coat over it (a clearcoat). Or you can take it off with the remover, which is acetone, good for circuit board cleaning too. One of the funner things done is to get your toenails painted in patterns.

I wandered by Alternative Energy Area Friday morning, and thought that if I went and found the element I'd find you, asleep (it was about 7 AM). I agree with you, it's about People, and for me, the Unexpected People rather than the scheduled ones. I couldn't find any of my friends who I camped with more than once, but that's OK, I know how to find them off the playa.

I got Playa Surfer hair in under a day. It's still not quite gone. PLAYACONDITIONER! FOR REAL BODY!

I, also, will return. I don't know when. But now I know what it is and to some degree can be.

Looking forward to your pictures and further stories!

*pictures Big Bloo with silver nail polish* Er.. That's a brain twister.

Sounds like fun, much like my joys of backpacking. Wish I could go to stuff like that, too.
