BM2K3 Firedancers
Sep. 2nd, 2003 04:52 pmI didn't take many pictures this trip. Instead,
revar got most of them including a bunch of 30-second movie clips. Watch Revar's journal for those sometime soon. :)
The first batch of the ones I have are on my imageserver page. There's only a handful there so far. To be honest I was having too much fun just hanging out there to worry about taking too many pictures! Next year, however, it'll be time to get off my hindside and get the camera working again.

As always, click the thumbnails to get to the image's page, then click the image to get the full sized version if you want 6mpix of download time.
I do love the way fire trails on long exposure images. It's so much more organic than the LED and lightstick versions. However, it does tend to hurt when you screw up. Please note the sudden angle-change in the trail of this first picture. That was the dancer's shoulder. :)

The rest are a 'best of', as I played with different shutter lengths and conditions and had many failures. Note the guy in the wheelchair, too: he rocked!

Date: 2003-09-02 05:27 pm (UTC)As for LEDs being not as good, you're right, but have you ever seen the blue ones I made with the Nichia LEDs you gave me? They're pretty darn bright, even if they're not fire. :)
Argh. I really wish I could've gone!
Great Pictures!
