Trip go Boom
Oct. 3rd, 2003 03:01 amIt's 3am and I've got a wicked case of no-sleep-itis. It's not so much insomnia as it is just my mind going in circles over tasks and planning. I was supposed to be asleep before 11p as tomorrow was going to be a mini-vacation. The idea here was to get up at 8am, get on the bike, ride over Mt. Hamilton and see friends who are hanging out at Bass Lake, just outside of Yosemite. A great day-ride.
Being up at 3am kind of nullifies that.
I could still make it out there but it'll be more of a challenge. When I eventually wake up tomorrow I'll make the call -- a quick straight-shot ride to see friends, which I could leave as late as 11am for -- or bail on the ride and go hang out with
dustykat at his dealer show instead?
The only 'swing factor' is that normally I do a ton of prep before even a short weekender motorcycle trip. I've done almost nothing due to being ultra-busy at work. Sure, the bike is in ready-to-go condition but I'll have no nav or 'just in case it all goes wrong' stuff. Something in the back of my mind is telling me "you need to be more spontaneous and Just Go" instead of all the dang ultra-prep I do.
