One of my hobbies is photography. Normally I do landscape and portrait work. Later on, I'll post some of it to let those who read this journal get a peek at what I do.

New to me, though, is motorcycle photography. I've been trying to learn how to take the kind of shots that would get used in a magazine. One fine day in December, my buddy Dusty had me follow him up to Junction -- a nice little place halfway between Patterson, CA and Mount Hamilton, on some of the best motorcycle roads in the state. There we sat outside the little tavern and worked on some product shots in the late-day winter sun.

Much to my surprise... they got used. I know it's just a web-based magazine and not 'real print', but I'm proud nonetheless. For those curious to see them:

The article is here.

(yes, I know, my name isn't on the credits. It was a miscommunication between the magazine and Dusty. He's fixing that as I type this.)

It just makes me grin, y'know?

You might want to sign up for this site, if you haven't already -- http://www.photosig.com which is a critique site of sorts, with amateurs AND professionals using it. It's a lot of fun!

Nice photos, by the way, I've always heard vehicles are difficult because the tires soak up the light because they are dark and dull, and if you compensate too much, there is a lot of glare on the paint and chrome. Don't know, never tried myself, but am always impressed when I see nice cars/bikes/motorcycles/etc.
