Bats up on rooftops and tired monoceri
Dec. 13th, 2002 01:47 amWe kit-bashed the weather station into fitting on the salvaged 8' pole, and remounted the sensor package to the highest point on the house. The tripod mount from the previous antenna is designed to support much heavier things, so I'm not too worried about it surviving the next windstorm. For the first time since we got the Davis it should actually be able to measure real wind-speed/direction. We're going to get one of the servers set up to talk to it and put the weather-web-page back online eventually. The neighbor-kid helped out as payment for me going over there later to fix his wireless link. I'm too big to be safe on our shoddily-built roof so the helping-hand was appreciated.
A busy day at the office, a really bad Togo's dinner and a seriously intense after-work ride conspired to completely wipe me out. Glum, Erin, Jonas and oCe pulled by again to go beat up things in Metroid and Smash Brothers, and I really wanted to hang out with them. They're a decidedly cool change to the people I usually see. Instead I sat down to check email a moment and woke up most of an hour later, barely making it out to say "bye!" before they were out the door. Erf.
Normally I don't get that tired. Then again, maybe it was the fact that I'd stayed up until 5am the night before and had only a 3-hour-nap before work. Bad bluething. One of these weeks I'll start getting to bed before 1am.
