Ambling back to the van after seeing LOTR:TTT (aah, that wonderful feeling of 'Epic'... I needed that), Frang was the first to spot someone apparently parked in the middle of the lane, bumped up against my van. He was terribly amused. I thought, distance wise, the person was behind my vehicle, but Frang assured me he was against it. Upon closer inspection, he was indeed correct.

The car was snugged up against the spare tire hung on my van's rear door. A quick inspection showed that no real damage had occurred, thanks to them hitting the tire like a rubber bumper. Evidently they'd slipped backwards out of their parking spot across the lane due to a mild slope. A note was on the windshield, under the wiper.

[livejournal.com profile] chipotle mused aloud, "It probably says, "Hey, Dumbass"," which got us all to chuckle. [livejournal.com profile] reality_fox went and picked up the note, read it and started laughing. It indeed said "hey, dumbass," as well as a few rude comments for good measure. Whoever left the note was as amused as they were crass.

We had to push the car forwards into their old spot, hold it there while moving the van out of the way, then let it slowly go back down slope until it came to a stop against the curb we were parked against. We did it careful-like, so there was no damage to their car. I turned an old McDonald's back inside out (note: this is a great way to make a 'waterproof note', due to the type of waxy paper used) and scribbled them a note of my own. I let the car owner know we'd carefully set his car against the other curb to avoid damage and that he was exceedingly lucky the car hit my spare tire and not someone's tail-light or worse. We left the original note from other-people there too, and then went on our merry way.

I have to wonder what they thought when they got back to their car.

Actually, it was [livejournal.com profile] chipotle who said, "It probably says 'Hey, dumbass!'" just before I read the note. That's what made it all the more funny.

Rude note? I'll say! Someone's got hate 'issues'.

I hope it's not someone wanting to get you in trouble. :(

I guess that the note was left for the car that'd slipped out from its parking place... And since it was in the middle of the lane, well, it was blocking traffic.
