While I'm rounding out this quick spat of LJ entries, I thought I'd add one more, prompted by reading one of [livejournal.com profile] genesis_w's recent entries, where she posted many fine images from a trip she and her hubby just took.

I've got an image server, written by my pal Darren New, running over on one of my machines at images.fbrtech.com. As most of the images I take are sized for print, and not for screen, I wanted an easy way to have a web site auto-scale and index them for easy showing to friends and maybe even building up a portfolio. The system is designed to take multiple users, and keep a yerf-like Recent Images page folks can check up on to see photos/artworks as they are uploaded. It's also handy for using as the back-end for other web pages, like I do for my ride-report entries. It's kind of like 'pbase' and the other photo-index sites around the web, but geared in what I feel is a more useful fashion.

I'm more than willing to give accounts and storage space on this photo-system to my friends that would like it. I'm hoping those who have me as an LJ-Friend who post pictures in their journals read this -- if you want an easy place to upload your digicam images, please, let me know! It's pretty easy to use, and I'm glad to share the resource. This offer also goes for my family members, if any of them are reading this.

Side note: Darren's trying to sell the software, and as such has festooned the opening page with his ad-copy, which I support. He's also advertising it in various photo forums to see who'd want to buy it. If you know of anybody who needs such a thing, have them get ahold of Darren. However, there's no advertising on the site otherwise, nor any at all on any individual user's page. It's cool. :)

Actually, Tug, If you have an account to spare I'd really love one. I don't want to load Madcoyote because I don't thinkg Granite has muich space to give, and rr.com limits me to five megs of storage. Not that I plan to be loading up a lot, but having a place specifically dedicated to storing photographs (especially now that I have the digital camera) would be really nice.
