Self-decor update.
Feb. 11th, 2003 02:30 pmAs I posted in an earlier entry I'm nearing the completion of a piercing-style I wanted to wear. The left ear now bears a 0ga stainless steel grommet. This weekend I'll be ready to go up to 00ga and be done with it. All that remains now is to find a grommet I like in that size as well as the proper gapless segment-ring to put through it.
My local shop, "Body Exotic" of San Jose, has the grommet. It's not as fancy as I'd like, but it'll do (and it's cheap). The ring I'm looking at is right here, though I'd much prefer to find it locally, and maybe in blue titanium or niobium instead of the too-pricey yellowmetal. I'm hoping
kattything or other SanFran-area friends can help me find a shop with more jewelry selection than what the tiny San Jose stores have.
When done it should look like a mechanical decoration -- a notable but not oversized metal-lined hole with an unbroken hoop that spins freely in it. I've got no other 'self decor' plans other than the usual hair braids I like to wear. I'm still hoping some of the friends who said they'd send things last year find something fun to send. The braids at the 'con worked rather well, but were a bit blandly populated. All I had to tie-in at the moment were some wooden dragon-beads, some shell-bits given by a friend, and a small clay bead my roomate gave me that I was very careful with.
As much as I want to get a simple tattoo, I simply can't decide on the design or (more importantly) the motivation enough to actually go do it. Someday, maybe.

Date: 2003-02-11 04:09 pm (UTC)Lemme know if you want. I don't have good luck with redheads though, and it takes heat, heat, heat and more heat to set right. So if I mud you, plan on doing it in a sauna.
