Attempts at being artsy
Mar. 3rd, 2003 06:45 pmThis weekend was spent going up to Pt. Reyes on Saturday and around Calaveras Resevoir on Sunday. The goal was to get there at sunset to experiment with the light a little. On one of the shots I was trying for a pastel-like effect by using a soft lens and some filtering; I'm somewhat pleased with the results. Light hitting sands at such a low angle gives them a unique color tone, but it's hard to catch with digital gear. The greens of the dune grasses stand out wonderfully, though.

Thanks to Garth and Watts for helping with such third-party pictures. It's a lot easier than using a tripod and a timer.
