Picture Quiz 3

1 and 2 were in the last picture quiz post. As written in the comments, #1 was a closeup of an eye (mine, the left) and a surface mount resistor on a circuit board.

I had one pic from today's trip come out nice looking but enigmatic. So, here's the next picture quiz. Who can guess what this is?

It's better than bad, it's good! It looks like a wooden plank to me. Like the edge of a park bench, maybe.

Heh. Okay, so my photos are way too obvious. Got it in one. :) I took the pic because I liked the detail of all the things that'd happened to the wood in the beachside environment.

It's a picnic table at Pescadero State Beach. It's suffered the elements a scant 100' from the ocean shore or so.

It's metal... no, it's lichen-y wood. The edge of a picnic table, park bench, or whatnot, with out-of-focus ground beneath it.

Yup, very obvious for anyone whose ever taken a nap on one and gotten that close to the grain.
