After work I went out for dinner with Revar. We took a moment to snap a few photos while in the mall parking lot. It's so very, very bluuuuue. Just like I like it. :)

The good news is that it fits in the parking garage at work by thiiiiis much. The tip of that front-center antenna taps each overhead beam as I go under it. It means I have to be careful on the first floor speedbumps but otherwise, no worries. The bad news is that means no roof-rack unless I want to park at a distance or commute in the Element. I'll have to think on this one as Revar was hoping to be able to sell off his truck if my car had a high-load-capacity rack (to carry metal stock, the only thing we really use his truck for these days).

The door surgery went well enough. A case knife was all it took to cut out the oversized arm-rest shape. Now I can fabricate a new storage pocket there that my leg will fit against much better. The drive home afterwards was a huge improvement.

Tomorrow, it's off to the semi-nearby redwoods and/or beach for the first mini-roadtrip!

Said it on the muck, but repeating here... Might be easier for you to fit rack space *inside* to use up the full length of the roof space. Added benefit, it's harder for someone to steal from inside a locked van than a roof rack. Downside, it'll edge into your head room.

The British are coming! The British are coming! :D
I was reading about those in Car & Driver and marveled at the fact that a product called "Ford Transit" would actually be sold in the US for the first time. Transits have been a staple of Europe for decades.
This Transit Connect is more of a Transit Junior. :)
The side-opening rear doors are so much nicer for us tall people than overhead hatches. I had a GMC Safari (aka Chevy Astro) for a while and it had side-opening rear doors too.

It definitely needs a horn-shaped hood ornament!

Veeerrrrraaaa nice! I love the way the back doors open up completely out of the way!

Congrats for snagging a super cool beasty that looks like it will serve you very well.

Can it be fitted with a temporary side rack?

Sweet!

I saw a truck laden with Transit Connects heading north on 101 a couple weeks ago and thought of you. Don't think yours was on it, though; these were mostly white and grey.
