What DPI was that printed on?

From: [identity profile] tugrik.livejournal.com
At that size the original art panned out to 110dpi.

Hmm... 44"x72" at 150 dpi... little over a third of a gig. Sounds interesting...

Lots of times we print stuff just 'cause we want to print stuff, or have stock left over to share with friends. So never be afraid to ask, even if it's not in your budget right now... :)

Sometimes we print things just for fun -- or just because we have leftover material. IT doesn't always have to cost. Feel free to nose wish-I-had-this-printed ideas my way when you want. :) tugrik@gmail.com

The bigger the printer the cheaper per-square-foot it is to print. My costs are surprisingly affordable, which is why I cut such good deals for folks in the fandom.

Oh yes please! You do have a site for your printing services, yeah? I've been looking to have some nice large posters made for my work room but haven't found any I like enough to put up. But if I could get a couple custom-made.... *claps hands happily*

I don't have a site yet, my apologies. I get enough business by word-of-mouth (and journal friends) that I've not had to advertise as of yet.

The short version: up to 42"x205" approx, and tons of types of media (matte, glossy, even cloth and canvas). Costs are between $3 and $7 per square foot depending on what media you want it on. Just let me know what you need and I'll happily send you a quote, no worries. It's also a fully color-calibrated system so I guarantee my work.

Ooh neat! What sorts of disclaimers (like stuff you WON'T print) do you schpiel at your customers? I'm not entirely sure exactly what I want printed up but I definitely will be poking you in the near future for a project or two.

As long as you have the copyright permission to have it printed and it doesn't break any laws of the United States, California, or the City of San Jose, then I don't mind printing it. :) No worries!

If you have the art (and the rights to have it printed; I respect copyright), I'd be more than glad to help! How big and on what media? :)

Date: 2010-02-19 10:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tugrik.livejournal.com
Depending on media, anywhere from $3 to $7 per square foot. :) Or if you're doing throwaway stuff for book signing events and the like, I can usually find $2.25/sqFt media that still looks darn good. In fact, that's what this poster in this entry was printed on.
