The tooth came out at 10:30 this morning; I was home shortly afterwards. Once again living up to my avatar's nature, I seem to have set that dentist-office's record for size of tooth they've pulled. The darn thing's HUGE! I'll digicam-pic it later just 'cause it's so weird.
Since the I've been sleeping the sleep of the drugged, thanks to vicodin. It's been necessary too. ow. Now that it's 6:30 and I'm up the pain isn't nearly as bad as this morning, but my jaw and cheekbone are still mad at me. With luck this will taper off enough to still be good for my end-of-week rally trip.
The extraction plus the two (yes, two, due to the tooth being so huge) bone grafts ran me about $550 after insurance. They could have implanted a fake tooth as well (new technology, William) but that would have been closer to $3700. Yeeeeow! I don't think so.
For now... time for a diet shake (since I've not eaten in about 22 hours -- thanks for the shakes, sis!) and more vicodin.

Date: 2003-07-23 06:56 pm (UTC)Good luck with healing, man :] Hope it goes sans problems.
Is there any IM-like way to contact you? Although I can be horrible at getting to know new people -- especially with a significant age difference -- it might just even work... and I'm wondering about the random monoceros that added me out of the blue and knows JB :)
Or I could raise my rear end and just write an e-mail ^^;

Date: 2003-07-24 11:43 am (UTC)Word of warning. Avoid straws, yogurt, and standing on your head for at least the next month. Actually... Not just standing on your head. Anything that raises your blood pressure hurts significantly. So avoid meetings too. =)

Get well soon.
Date: 2003-07-24 03:07 pm (UTC)And remember, painkillers are Your Friends. When my wisdom teeth were pulled, the day I felt pain was the day I made the mistake of switching to Tylenol too early. They give you the hard stuff for a reason }:>.
As an addendum to what dv_girl said, anything that involves negative pressure is a Bad Thing. This is why straws are on the list, but things involving slurping are probably a bad idea too.
