Pictures of the Bates riding suit being worn are now up.

In short: The jacket is wonderful, and works/fits/functions well. The pants were a good idea, but didn't pan out. Baters had to do new things for my size, and well... they've got a bit to learn in the huge-people-clothing arena. Things just don't always scale well. I may end up using just normal jeans and boots for commuting and save the full riding-pants for the long trips.

And yes -- I know that these things make a fat rider look even more huge. Embarrasingly so. It's downright freaky, in fact. Still... I'd rather be road-safe and mocked than pulpy hamburger after a low-side. So laugh-a while you can, monkeyboy! :)

I tell ya dude, the pants aren't as bad as you think they are. Sure, you may think that they look funky but they're functional. Just give them a little time, M'kay? I felt like a total dork going out in public in my leathers when I first got them but I got over it. Give them a chance to get broken into your body and yourself time to get used to wearing them.
