One of my favorite photos from this weekend's desert vacation. It's an image I hope [livejournal.com profile] desertcoyote, [livejournal.com profile] chipotle and my other coyote-compliant friends will appreciate. It was taken near Scotty's Castle in the last half-hour before sunset, from about 200' out. Even though it's only 800 pixels wide, it's been cut-tagged for friendlist safety.

Wow, nice!

I saw a coyote last March over in Mt. Diablo National Park, just loping along the side of the road in broad daylight. Came within 10 feet of him, and he just started curiously without running away. I really wish I could've taken a picture, as he had a gorgeous ruddy coat, but alas, no camera.

Yay coyote! A bunch of them live near our house. I always try to stop and talk to them when I see them. They don't talk to me. Goddamn snobs.

I think I'll have to swipe a copy of this when I get home. *nod* How far away were you when you took this?

We reputedly have coyotes around where we're at -- they come pester the dogs all the way at the far end of the complex. As of yet, I've only seen deer, and K has seen a fox twice and turkeys once.

Beautiful.
Just the right depth of field too. I think if the background behind the 'yote would have been in focus you would have lost 'im in it. But the grass somehow adds to it. Gives the scene a place to happen or something.
Didja get any other poses?
