Busybusy weekend; no rest for the blue critters this close to the convention. Saturday was spent hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] smokepaw and [livejournal.com profile] yelth as well as doing printwork for convention clients. Sunday was far more involved, working on a few tiki designs, spending a half-day with [livejournal.com profile] foofers and his buddy working on Masquerade trophies and spending some time in the shop.

As [livejournal.com profile] dustykat mentioned in his journal, the fursuit head dryer was assembled today. He and [livejournal.com profile] smackjackal spent a lot of time and did an exceptional job.

As for all the laser time, most of it was spent hacking on acrylic and wood to put together a proper set of trophies for this year's masquerade. These are work-in-progress pictures only. They'll be even cooler looking once Foofs is done finessing them. He did all the artwork and design; I'm just the tool'noceros with the laser and CNC woodcarver.

The last tikis of the weekend were completed just before midnight, bringing a close to the work-weekend festivities. I managed to complete a 32-set of Kitsumi's little foxes and a 16-pack of Synnabar's assorted hula-bunnies. :)

Interleaved with this I also managed to get a pack of prints for Astolpho out the door, though I ran out of time to help him with some wood-plaque work; that'll have to happen later this week. Nambroth's prints are sprayed and tubed up, too... I just have to ship them on Monday. Three other jobs will get done Monday or Tuesday night. Then I check my email box to see what else has come in since then. Oif!

So far I have the 10 numbered sets of tikis and four of the extra un-numbered sets, but I've now run out of wood. More has been ordered but there's no guarantee it'll be here in time. The other few designs that've arrived may or may not get made as a result. Besides, we're reaching tiki-oversaturation here. It's been an incredible learning-opportunity of a project that I've loved working on... but wow, that's a lot of wood. :)

Maybe it's just me, but does anybody else look at "The Rack" and think that it looks like the Mother of All Nerf Launchers?

First time I saw it the "branches" were all pivoted to a single plane for storage. It looked like a fursuit-drying menorah. :)

Wow! You do so much, I hope you get some time to rest!

I love how the bunnies and the fox came out! :D I'm glad the bunnies were okay. And the awards that you and Foofers worked on are gorgeous, too! I'm sure the recipients will be really pleased!

Best wishes to you! :)

Those are all absolutely adorable... bunnies and foxes... both look great... and those awards... stellar. Glad that I was able to contribute and be part of it! Very impressive to say the least... I just hope you aren't over working yourself. I hope to get a chance to meet and hang with you come FC here too. :) Maybe talk with you about getting something done up here at some point too... So that a machine that will be in the fursuit lounge for airing out heads I gather? Looks very ominous... *cue foreboding music*

One suggestion... You might want to tether the caps to the drying rack somehow or have something the caps can be tossed in while a particular tube is in use. The caps seem like something that could get lost very easily.

They are already tied on with nylon cord. holes drilled into caps so they cant get lost.

Do you have 'spray' style vent caps too?

One's that would restrict the air flow enough to give a high velocity (if not neccessarily high pressure) face hosing?

Hmm.. or maybe a pvc adapter that could mate with a vacuum hose to do a directed air blast inside a suit.
